Kérastase Nutritive Nutri-Supplement Split Ends Serum is a 50ml leave-in serum for dry hair with split ends. Applied as drops on dry hair, it smooths and seals the ends so they look and feel better. It does not repair a split; only cutting removes it.
How it works
It is a silicone-based oil serum: isododecane carries dimethicone and dimethiconol, with corn germ oil and glyceryl linoleate, oleate and linolenate for conditioning. The silicones coat the ends and temporarily bind the surface, which reduces the look of fraying and adds shine.
Who it suits
- Dry, frayed ends on long or coloured hair, especially after summer sun and chlorine
- Anyone who wants a finishing serum for ends rather than a full-lengths oil
What it will not do
- It will not permanently fix split ends. The effect lasts until the next wash; a trim is the only cure.
- It is not a moisturiser. It contains no water, so hydration comes from your conditioner or mask.
Good to know
Kérastase says to apply 5 drops to dry hair and leave in, then style as desired. Start with fewer drops on fine hair. The formula contains fragrance and several fragrance allergens (linalool, limonene, coumarin and others). Rinse eyes immediately and thoroughly if it gets into them, and reduce use if irritation occurs.
