Kérastase Curl Manifesto Masque Beurre Haute Nutrition is an extra-rich 200ml mask for very curly, coily, dry and brittle hair. Kérastase says it moisturises deeply and reinforces curls to help reduce breakage, control frizz and improve softness, shine and definition. It contains shea butter, coconut oil, a silicone (amodimethicone) and methylparaben.

How it works

Cetearyl alcohol, behentrimonium chloride and glycerin form the conditioning base, with shea butter and coconut oil for richness. Modified potato starch, manuka honey extract and a ceramide are also listed. Mica and titanium dioxide give a pearly look.

Who it suits

Thick, dry or brittle curls and coils, especially after a summer of sun, salt and chlorine.

What it will not do

• It is not silicone- or paraben-free. It contains amodimethicone and methylparaben, plus isopropyl alcohol.
• It can weigh down fine, loose curls. For lighter hydration use the Fondant Hydratation Essentielle.
• It does not define curls on its own.

Good to know

Kérastase directs a generous amount on damp hair, worked from ends upward while detangling, left for 5 minutes for lighter nourishment or up to 30 minutes for an intensive treatment, then emulsified and rinsed.

Step 1
Apply a generous amount to damp hair, adjusting for length and thickness.

Step 2
Distribute evenly, gently detangling with your fingers or a wide-tooth comb. For very tangled curls, start at the ends and mid-lengths.

Step 3
Leave for 5 minutes for lighter nourishment or up to 30 minutes for an intensive treatment.

Step 4
Add a little water, emulsify and rinse thoroughly.
