Product Description
Kérastase Nutritive Bain Satin is a hydrating 250ml shampoo for normal to dry hair. Kérastase says it cleanses and replenishes the hair with plant-based proteins and niacinamide. It cleanses with sodium laureth sulfate and sodium lauryl sulfate, so it is not a sulfate-free shampoo.
How it works
The sulfates do the cleansing. Glycerin, panthenol and niacinamide add moisture-binding care, and hydrolysed wheat, corn and soy proteins condition the surface of the hair. Dimethicone coats the lengths to add slip, which is why dry hair feels softer and detangles more easily after rinsing.
Who it suits
- Normal to dry hair that feels rough, dull or lacks softness
- Hair dried out by Cyprus sun, sea and chlorine, hard water or constant air conditioning
- Anyone who wants a nourishing everyday shampoo rather than a rich one
What it will not do
- It is not sulfate-free. If you want a sulfate-free wash, this is not it.
- It is not the richest option. For very dry or thick hair, Kérastase makes Bain Satin Riche.
- It will not repair damage. A shampoo is on the hair for seconds. Repair and moisture come from the conditioner or mask that follows.
Good to know
The formula contains wheat- and soy-derived proteins and fragrance, so check the full ingredient list below if you are sensitive to either. Kérastase advises reducing how often you use it if irritation occurs, and rinsing eyes immediately and thoroughly if the shampoo gets into them.
Pair it with
- Lait Vital Conditioner: lightweight conditioning for fine to medium dry hair
- Masquintense Mask: a weekly nourishing mask
